So here's James when he's awake. He's been playing hockey since 2nd grade, but during his middle school years his protective mother steered him in to playing in a "no check", recreational league. Last year I said "what the heck" and he joined the high school JV team. (No major injuries so far, although I do a lot of wincing in the stands.) He's turned out to be a pretty scrappy player. My dad -- aka Uncle Harland -- likes to tell me that HIS dad loved watching hockey games in Great Falls. So I like to think that James's great grampa would be proud.

James's Inner Scrappiness

Ha ha! love the post labels Leslie. Good for James. Great pics. I can imagine how scrappy he is on ice. I can also visualize you in the stands doing the Leslie cower, wimper and cringe (ala' when Jaws leaped onto the fishing boat). I hope you guys can come out for a week at the lake so we can see James and Kate before they go to college and become busy doin' life.
