10 Clues to Our Family's Genetic Eccentricities!

Wow. This has been fascinating reading. Who knew there was so much OCD running through our bloodline? Must be all those centuries (millennia?) of our Shetland ancestors living the crofting lifestyle --- the women knitting while carrying kishies of peats on their back.

I am definitely Edith's granddaughter when it comes to the weeding obsession. Do you remember Gramma pulling weeds in public parks? That would be [is] me. And yes, the OCD manifests itself in me in several other ways.

Anyway, I'll give some thought to this and put my own list together.

Hey Leslie, love this picture. It looks like she is carrying her knitting with her while she collects the peat. Grandma often walked around the house with her knitting belt on and needles projecting from her waist. Us kids knew to give her a wide berth or suffer a stabbing.
Can't wait to read your 10 things. Its a great exercise in self-reflection. Hey Mom and Dad, we want to hear from your generation too! Get on it!

Yes, Gramma was just doing her work as a good Shetlander. Why waste time simply walking when there's good work that can be done??? I've pulled some old photos I've found on the internet of Shetlanders doing interesting things. I did manage to find one of our great-great uncles Goudie "hoeing neaps".
